PAX TABLETOP SECTION

By Drawza

Before going into the details of what to expect this year, I think about previous years and how the tabletop section holds so many memories of PAX Aus for me.

So hearing what is coming to PAX Aus 2024 gets me even more excited about all the amazing games I will be checking out, getting hands on experience with and maybe even a few purchases.

PAX Aus attendees who love tabletop gaming are in for a treat this year, with more tabletop floor space than ever before.

One of the exhibitions will be Disney Lorcana, a collectible card game by Ravensburger.

"We're extremely excited to bring Disney Lorcana to Australian fans this year," said Will Chan, Disney Lorcana Sales and Marketing Manager at Modern Brands (exclusive ANZ distributor).

"Whether you're a Disney fan, new to TCGs or a fully fledged Illumineer well versed in questing for lore, our booth will have something for everyone. We look forward to bringing the community together to play, learn and share in celebrating this wonderful experience during the show!"

Disney Lorcana will be joined by giants in the table tops scene Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.

Celebrating 50 years, fans will be able to get their hands on exclusive merchandise and will also be able to play demos of the new sets for the first time.

The tabletop section will be open from 10am-10pm on Friday and Saturday, 10am-6pm Sunday.

For TTRPG it does not stop at the tabletop section, with a new theatre dedicated to TTRPG one shot adventures, introducing the Owlbear Theatre, many adventures will be had over the weekend and there are sure to be plenty of laughs.

Back to the tabletop section, there is something for almost everyone with learn-to-play sessions, tournaments and events for a wide range of card games including One Piece, Dragon Ball Super, Digimon and the latest addition Sand Land.

PAX Aus attendees may remember the ‘paint and take’ section of the tabletop area and that will be returning in 2024 with a twist, unfortunately we have not been able to obtain what it is but keep your eyes and hears peeled to find out.

Star Wars: Unlimited will be providing fans an exclusive Grogu event promo card, so that will be a hot ticket item and one you can be sure will be going fast.

PAX Aus has something for any gamer, across so many areas through video game or tabletop, to cosplay and speedruns, from PAX Rising (the indie games) to console freeplay, from PAX Together to Omegathon.

PAX Aus takes place on October 11-13 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Be sure to get tickets to avoid missing out.
